We enter the next stage of our action: the building, that has never been renovated!
Praised be Jesus Christ,
again I am writing on behalf of Benedictine nuns from Jarosław 
We are nine sisters: we make our modest living by pensions of three of us and by a small embroidery workshop (read more about Benedictine nuns »).
And our story is all about enormously difficult task, our life has set us. A huge renovation of our convent, obviously beyond us, turned to be indispensable to live here, pray and work. To spare every penny, we can, is far from enough…
Having no other way, we came to the decision about renovation of the site. The costs, we have had to cover already, consumed our own savings, offerings of private donors, collections and loans.
The idea of website containing information about the condition of the old convent and the pictures is a fruit of our prayer in that difficult circumstances.
That turned out to be a perfect solution. Your generosity has brought us as much as 449,443.01! Amount, that has allowed us to complete the first phase of indispensable renovation. Some time ago I have described in the summary of Action the extent of enormous changes.
Yet the other building of the convent has never been thoroughly renovated…
We were enormously amazed by the success of the first stage… As I have already written while announcing the second stage, - for a long time we had been in two minds about asking you for your further help… the next part of works lies ahead, which we were even granted EU subsidies for, yet which we won’t be able to complete without neither God’s nor your help. The amount, we need, is enormous. Again it is 400,000 zł, but as we have already learned, nothing is impossible for the Lord and you!
The roof that has already seen its better days, really calls for a thorough renovation, the walls are dank, the plaster crumbles off the walls, the water piping has got totally rusty, the heating system and the sewerage have to be completely replaced. The foundations and the historic wall adjacent to the building need dehumidification, warm insulation of walls is also indispensable, etc. Lots of work!
